COMMON Elects Board Members for 2007û2008

COMMON, the largest user group of midrange IBM and IBM-compatible technology, has announced election results for their 2007–2008 board of directors. The election winners include two board members that were reelected to their second three-year terms, Dan Kimmel and Wayne Madden, and one new member, Bob Krzeczowski.

"I would like to congratulate Dan Kimmel, Bob Krzeczowski, and Wayne Madden, and welcome them all to our board for the next three years," said Randy Dufault, president of the COMMON Board of Directors. "The time commitment required to oversee a user group like ours is substantial and they, as well as all of COMMON's volunteers, are making a significant personal sacrifice to ensure COMMON gets done what needs to get done. I would also like to thank all COMMON members that took the time to vote in this year's election."

Dan Kimmel

Dan has been an active iSeries and IBM midrange software development professional for over 30 years. He has designed and developed custom and commercial application and integration code for myriad IBM iSeries and midrange customers in manufacturing, medical, financial and other industries. Dan has been a speaker and/or volunteer at more than 30 COMMON conferences; he has served on the board for three years; prior to that, his most recent position was head of the Tactical Liaison to Curriculum (TLC) crew.

Bob Krzeczowski

Bob has been in the IT industry for the last 26 years filling many rolesemployee, consultant, and business owner. He has worked in operations as a programmer, an analyst, and as a manager. Bob has been a volunteer with COMMON as a speaker and a member of the education team for more than 15 years. On the education team he served as a subject matter expert, a strategic team member, the assistant strategic education team manager, and most recently, COMMON's strategic education team manager.

Wayne Madden

Wayne is vice president and group publisher/editor-in-chief of the IBM Technology Group at Penton Technology Media in Loveland, Colorado. He is responsible for the System iNetwork and System iNEWS Magazine. Wayne is also an award-winning speaker in the IBM technology marketplace and especially at COMMON conferences. Besides the many sessions he has presented, his 17 years' experience with COMMON includes serving as assistant project manager and project manager for the security track. In his most recent position, he has served on the COMMON Board of Directors for the past three years.
