Q: I have installed LAN Server/400 and have IPL'd the AS/400. But when I use WRKLNK OBJ('/QLANSrv/*'), there is nothing under subdirectory NWS.

A: The QLANSrv file system automatically creates several subdirectories (including NWS and DSK). However, these subdirectories will be empty until objects exist for them. Specifically, below /QLANSrv is the NWS subdirectory, which will contain the names of the network servers and will remain empty until network servers are created and varied on. Then, below these network server subdirectories, the subdirectory called DSK (for each) will remain empty until network server storage spaces are created and linked for a network server that is varied on.
