Q: I ended a job recently and it took almost 15 minutes for the job to finally end. I later found out that the job was producing a joblog that was several thousand pages long. I often don't care what's in the joblog; I already know what's wrong. Is there a way to end a job without having it produce a joblog?

A: On the End Job (ENDJOB) command there is a parameter, Maximum Log Entries (LOGLMT), that lets you limit the number of entries written to the joblog. If you don't want a joblog at all, set this parameter to zero. If you want a small joblog, set it to a small value such as 100.
