TechTalk: A quick and easy way to find a subroutine in an RPG program.

Very often, programmers need to jump to the beginning of subroutines within their RPG programs. When writing or modifying very large programs, finding a specific subroutine can be a very time-consuming process. There's a way to quickly and easily accomplish this. On the SEU command line, at the top of the screen, simply type the following command:

 F  18 F 

This will cause SEU to scan forward through the source code for the first occurrence of starting in column 18. For RPG IV source, change the number 18 to 12.
